Appearance of HDR

The HDR has come out for decades, but it has been more popularized in recent time in accompany with a great number of new softs.
I will introduce HDR effect and explain why we should choose HDR.
Above all, in order to make my word more understandable, I will explain some relevant terms: DR, HDR. First, DR, Dynamic range (DR) means the extent of luminance values from the darkest to the brightest. Second, HDR, High dynamic range (HDR) in photography refers to representing the full range of hue that show the scene highly faithful to the original scene.

Relating to photography, HDR has a great influence on it. For instance, we would like to take a shot of landscape at sunrise, which is time went out. There are clouds, sky, remote trees. What our eyes can see are flaming sky, colorful clouds and blocks of trees , which are very vivid. Whereas, we can find clouds of little drama, specifics and hue, almost over-exposed sky and muddy blurred distant trees in the picture getting with common camera. How does it come about? In fact, it is related to the DR I mentioned previously. The luminance values ratio of real-world is 100,000:1, and that of what your eyes can see is some 10,000:1, just 10% of the former one. And camera even can only capture views of 400:1. This is the factor that makes us just take pictures not true-to-life.
Now it is helpful to exercise HDR.

What exactly outcome can we get by using HDR
? I think it is of value for you. HDR techniques can be used to edit either singles or stitched panoramic images. On this occasion as I said above, editting stitched panoramic images is of necessity. I will present you the brief procedures of making HDR images, but not detailed technical ones. It is indispensable to take at least three photos of a same scene with different exposures first of all. The views of the three or more must be identical. There should be no any moving the position of camera when we catch these photos. Then we need a fixed tripod. If you intend to creat a perfect HDR photo, you'd better choose the scenes without any moving things or people, no transformation of light, and no wind, namely, capturing static views, or else it is probable to have a ghost image. Extract the dark part of the over exposed image and the bright portion of the under exposed ones, and merge them together. In short, take the best part of each image and combine them together to make a perfect one. The view is same to the original scene, and the HDR photo will be more lifelike and vivid than the unmodified one.

The example I presented above is just to show you partial functions and effect of HDR techniques, which doesn't mean that HDR technologies is the exclusive right of the professional picture takers.
With my introduction, you just know a little about HDR. What is waiting for you is to experience it by yourself.
