One of the essential things you should learn with your website is that you have to diversify your income.
Supposing most of your ads are with Google AdSense. Let's suppose it makes up 90% of your online earnings. Heaven forbid if Google should ever terminate your account! What would you do if you lose 90% of your website's revenue? Can you recover your losses immediately? For most individuals, they would not.
If you have a site, you can diversify by using pay-per-click, direct leads, PPA or pay per action or by receiving commissions from promoting products or services.
Just make sure to pay attention to the performance of your website. Make sure that you are checking your stats to see which banners and ads are performing the best and swap out the ones that aren't functioning as well. Rotating you banners every few months is also a wise idea. Thevisitors will become "banner blind" after awhile and will soon overlook all of your ads and banners.
Creating other websites is another way of multiplying one's earnings. Now, I have a number of websites that I create income from. Google banned one of my websites from their search engine roughly 4 months previously! This is not an unusual incident amongst Online Marketers. It seems that they regard my site as a link farm because of the various outgoing links to sponsor ads. At that time, I was earning approximately $1000 a month for that website. If I didn't have all of my other websites to pick up the slack, can you imagine the mess that could have happened?
Another way to expand your sites is to have a number of them on various servers. Hosting is dirt cheap these days. Let's say you throw one or two of them up on a $5.99 a month server and pay for a year's worth of hosting, you're doing the right thing. Not only does it have search engine benefits, but if one of your servers should go down, not all of your sites are down at once.
Just remember to always look for new streams of income for striving to learn additional ways of receiving money online is worth it in the end.
